“Concerning the use of Fermitan, (Thread Lock),it is without any other material, no tape, no hemp, just the Fermitan sealer on top of the cleaned thread. As it is an anaerobic glue it starts from the inside with the hardening where no air comes to it. Therefore,after putting Fermitan on the thread and screwing it together the plumber must let it react (polymerize) for at least some hours. If he starts after some minutes or half an hour to do a corrective action (like turning it back or forwards a few degrees) he destroys the beginning polymerization and will get a leakage later. As this type of product is a glue it must get the time to harden. With Loctite,it is identical.”Fermit GmbH, Germany.
